Hi - what do 11 year old boys like these days? December birthday, so not in secondary school yet.

Budget ... ermmm up to about £40 maybe as it's a birthday and Christmas combined.

Many thanks for any tips!

Gah, I still haven't been hit with inspiration for this and I need it by Friday LOL.

Any last minute tips, or is it such a crap present to buy no-one has any?

Any hobbies? I've got same age tomboy DSD some cheap football shirts from sports direct as she likes to have a variety for training as well as her own team's kit, Top Trumps, a detective book, some clothes from H&M and a board game from the Entertainer.

Please don't do one combined present! You wouldn't do that if his birthday was in June... it's horrible for children when people do this, particularly when their birthday present is wrapped in Christmas paper.

cryingcatmeme · 17/12/2019 19:12

Please do not combine Birthday and Christmas presents together. This is extremely unfair. Would you do this for other DC? When I was growing up, this happened to me every year. I’ve never forgotten. I never said anything but the unfairness stung a lot. As a result, I overcompensate for my own DC.

If he's into gaming, you could buy him a game. My own 11 year old ds likes spending any gift money on in game purchases for Fortnite too. Other than that, books, trainers, clothes.

Amazon vouchers or JD sports if one nearby to them ( assuming they arent in financial difficulty )

You can buy separate vouchers for birthday Xmas, I think you can load what you like in Tescos etc.

Is he into any bands yet? My 10yo DS is getting into music and loves a band t-shirt.

He has asked for a keyboard and mouse for playing Fortnite on the PS4.

Bluetooth speaker for his room?

We visited Ripleys in Amsterdam this year and DS loved it so my friend has got him the annual.

Someone here posted about Rocketbooks which look quite cool so I got DS a cheaper version for his stocking.

Passthecake30 · 18/12/2019 17:04

My ds (11) isnt at the deodorant or aftershave stage yet, much to relatives dismay....
