I have ordered myself a hamper!

For as long as I can remember I have wanted a F&M hamper. No idea why? Pretentious overpriced frivolous nonsense.

I really wanted the extra large hamper to use as a coffee table but that is only available in the pre packaged hampers. The cheapest in that size was 500 and the contents were rubbish. So I have picked a bespoke hamper filled with such delights as Fig Cheese and Hot Carrot Pickle. Not to mention very expensive loose leaf tea which comes in a lovely caddy. I also picked some biscuits because of the nice tin. I will keep the tin and caddy forever and use them when my grandchildren visit. I don't have grandchildren yet as my children are only 21 and 14.

I have ordered a very useful F&M bottle stopper and matching champagne stopper along with a bag and tea towel. So not totally frivolous after all.

I'm considering doing this but will wait until Boxing day when they're all reduced. I too want to use the hamper as a table.

Oh I love a hamper,

Nanasueathome · 10/12/2019 05:39

I have had 3 F&M hampers throughout the years and still love the baskets
They will be reduced on Boxing Day though so I always have a peek and see then
My last one was the Christmas Day hamper...purchased on Boxing Day last year
Delivery is really quick too

What a great idea! Very jealous. Hope it's all gorgeous.

We used to be sent F&M hampers every year by my DB, sadly now deceased. Consequently we still have at leat twelve, different shapes and sizes, dotted around the house, performing various functions from laundry basket to container for abandoned knitting. Some have the F&M logo stencilled on the wicker, some are plain, all very useful though.

It’s coming tomorrow! I didn’t know they reduced them after Christmas. Maybe this could be the start of a collection. A smaller one would be useful in the bathroom.

I usually get one every year from a client and as I’m a single mum with no one to buy me presents it’s the highlight of the winter. I really like them and use them for storage. Food is usually lovely but if you have the florentine’s they are gorgeous!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 10/12/2019 12:04

Another option is just to buy the basket, always loads for sale on eBay

fastliving · 13/12/2019 23:45

How do you know a real F&M hamper from a fake on eBay?

ScruffsMum · 01/02/2020 10:09

I received a F&M small hamper for Christmas and would love some ideas of uses for it now it’s been emptied of its delicious contents!

Chottie · 03/02/2020 15:49

@ScruffsMum

We got rid of our built in microwave and the space left is just perfect for a F&M hamper. I keep food 'goodies' in there that I'm saving for special occasions e.g. sweet biscuits, cheese biscuits, chocolates etc. They don't go walkabout then :)

ScruffsMum · 03/02/2020 20:59

That’s a great use of the space! Smile
