I posted before about my relative, with Downs and gift ideas that aren't baby-ish but are suitable for her needs/ likes, but now I've been asked if i can get something Strictly themed- any ideas? She adores Strictly- got her the annual in previous years, but any other ideas around £20??

Argos have a few strictly come dancing gifts. Or have you looked at Amazon?

Villagegreenpreservation · 09/12/2019 14:18

Really. I didn't even think it would be s thing. I'm not into it so I'm a bit unaware. If I were a rich lady I'd get her tickets to a show. But I'm not

My sister told me about Strictly pyjamas. Think they were from a supermarket but can't remember which one - maybe Tesco or Asda?

Namechangedzzz · 09/12/2019 14:28

That should have been a smiley face!

I just did a very quick search on Amazon for “strictly gifts”, there’s lots on there.

I made some Strictly paddles one year as Craig was in my local panto. I bought table tennis bats, cut some glittery gold card and glued it to each side, and then printed out 10 and stuck that on one side and 7 on the other side. And stuck my paddle up whenever he came on. I was well chuffed with myself, and he was very sweet about acknowledging it.

Would she like that?

What about a disco ball rotating light? I got one in Maplin a few years ago for DS (with classic ASD) but I'd imagine they are sold elsewhere.

Villagegreenpreservation · 09/12/2019 19:19

I love these!!! Thank you!

Does your relative have a particular favourite dancer (of the professionals) - a lot are on Insta and seem to engage well with fans - I think Diane Buswell for example has a lot of young fans and she seems to post their letters etc - possibly one to consider alongside an actual present present....?

myrtleWilson · 09/12/2019 19:23

re-post their letters or their instagram stories etc...is what I meant to type!

I've got us tickets to see strictly live, this thread is giving great inspiration for how to wrap /present them!

BananaHammock88 · 09/12/2019 20:28

I saw some strictly pjs in Tesco today, not sure how much they were though.

VanyaHargreeves · 09/12/2019 20:31

As well as the normal Strictly tour, Joe and Diane are doing a tour and there's a Professionals only tour in May.

BigcatLittlecat · 09/12/2019 20:33

I've got a paddle with a 10 on that I got at the strictly live show. If you pm me your address I'll send it on to you. It would make a cute little gift in addition to something else.

woodymiller · 09/12/2019 20:37

Our local theatre has at least 4 shows next year with various part and present professional dancers so there are lots of tours if you want to check your area for similar

Villagegreenpreservation · 09/12/2019 21:20

@BigcatLittlecat that would be so great thank you! This is Mumsnet at its best making me feel warm and nice 😍
