Finger food buffet

I'm thinking naice little sandwiches, smoked salmon pinwheels, charcuterie, olives, nuts, cheese, breadsticks, sausage rolls.

Basically food that people can graze on throughout the evening. Would prefer to make myself, but not too fiddly and limited hot food so I'm not sweating over the oven all evening.

Smallish group, so maybe a baked Camembert as they arrive. Then everything on platters for later.

What am I missing?

I've always found a big grazing table like this is best. The baked Camembert would be lovely too but I think rather than sandwiches and sausage rolls, a wide selection of meats served separately is better. Plus all the usual grazing table items....cheeses, different crackers and biscuits, breads too....and salad in bowls, olives, nuts, grapes and any other fruits you think might work. Dips and so on.

Mini quiches or a large quiche cut into slices.

How about a camembert snowflake? We've made this a few times its ace, looks fancy, but if you use ready rolled puff pastry it's prepped in only a few mins. It's also really tasty with pesto.

Ooh Aldi have got adorable ready made Christmas tree vol-au-vent cases in at the moment!

I just bought 10 packs for my Christmas buffet Grin

What's for 'dessert'?

Some nice bread? Pate? A bit of veg crudités?

christmassymcchristmas · 07/12/2019 19:56

@MustardScreams what are you filling them with? Do they need cooking? I really want these but I've never home vol-au-vented before

TrulyMadlyBeefly · 07/12/2019 21:27

@MustardScreams I didn't see those, will need to pop back to aldi, sounds perfect.

Pudding will be cheesecake, chocolate mousse and meringue roulade.
