I’m new to Mumsnet (and I’m 64!) but the reason I signed up and posted is that, while trying to find a service engineer for our Aga, I noticed a post about the the Masterchef XL. We’ve had one for just over 5yrs (just out of warranty 🙄) and we’re trying to get someone to come out and fix the cooling fan (probably an electrical fault). It’s proving impossible as all the previously Aga employed technicians were made redundant a few years ago and have gone self-employed. They now say that they only service the heat store Agas so we’re thinking we may have to get spares ourselves and call our wonderful local electrician to replace the parts that have ‘gone’. The appliance is very robust but in view of apparently zero after sales help I would advise against buying one. ( BTW don’t get a Lacanche either - been there etc and it was a nightmare to clean, whereas the Aga is, in fairness, very easy to clean). Perhaps a large induction hob (😫) and built in ovens next time. Our daughter likes her induction hob, after a few minor adjustments to her previous habits!
