The original one or the lite one?!

Does anyone know the difference?

Would a child be disappointed with the lite if he’d asked for a switch?

The whole idea of a switch is that you can use it up play on the console, or you can plug it into a TV/monitor avd play it on a big screen. If your child only wants a handheld version, the lite is fine, but tbh if you're buying one I'd get the proper version.

I've got the lites for my 2 as they want the handheld ones. I know the normal one can be used in handheld mode but they'd just fight over it!

I'm tempted to get the normal one at some point next year for the TV though as I quite like the look of some of the games

Lite is handheld only. Switch can be used with TV plus handheld

Depends whether they will want it on the tv or not. I have the original and have used it on the tv a couple of times but is mainly used handheld. they both fight over it. If the new one had being out last year I'd have got that one and got one each.

I got my 2 an original switch each. I was going to get one proper switch and one lite, so we could play on the TV and also they'd have one each for handheld. But we'd need extra controllers for us all the play, and I wanted a couple more games. Once I'd added the cost of the lite, the extra controllers and the Mario games it actually cost more than buying a second switch bundle (which had the controllers and games). So they've ended up with an original one each plus 6 games.

Totally depends on what the child wants to do my daughter wants the switch lite for her birthday because she wants a handheld device.

She knows what she wants for her birthday in January but does not know what she wants for xmas. so looks like she will get the switch lite for xmas because she's given no suggestions.
