DD has just turned 12, moved up to High School this year. She’s developmentally delayed with learning disabilities but is desperate to be like her peers and has asked for ‘things that 12 year olds want’

She has asked for a bean bag and a new iPad case but nothing else.

She doesn’t like / can’t sit still to do puzzles or craft activities, likes some family games but nothing that involves doing something against the clock. She loves films but we already have Netflix etc.

I’m so stuck! Would be very grateful for any ideas.

No video games, apart from the very occasional Minecraft. Definitely not into boys or cute guys yet thankfully!

Handbag is going on the list

My dd is 13 with ASD, she wants the things her sister is getting, the things her sister is wearing. So far I have got her..

Large Lego set (London bus).
A pair of jeans identical to mine (she keeps trying to pinch mine).
A denim shirt to put iron on badges onto (like her sister).
Qwertee t-shirts
Wheel of fortune bingo game
Diamond painting kits and light box
Scratch art
Cord Bracelet making kit
Bath bombs

I was going to suggest a mermaid tail blanket, but heated might be cosier!
Cute mug for hot chocolate
Nice reusable water bottle (there are lots of gorgeous ones around that suit young teenagers)

Those little instant cameras are really popular, my 12 year old niece loves hers and you can get phone cases with a little slot in the back for your photos

My 12 (almost 13yo) really wants LED strip lights for some reason. Found some on amazon which link to the Alexa and can change colour to music etc, they were around £25 iirc.

Oh and a wearable hoodie blanket or teddy fleece bedding.

Love the idea of a heated blanket - any recommendations?

ILikTheBred · 07/12/2019 21:21

@iwantavuvezela There are a few to choose from in Argos. My DM was thrilled with one I bought there.

I’ve got her
Sprocket & paper
Bean bag
A netball (younger sister is getting a netball post and ball so this will stop her pinching her sister’s to wind her up!)
iPad case
Stocking will be socks, smellies, shower cap, sweets.

I’m just hoping she actually uses her gifts this year and doesn’t hoard them away again.

My DD is 13. She loves body sprays, perfume and nail varnish, not into make up yet. She likes those Funko Pop figures. She loves Friends, so I got her some friends top trumps. I bought her a chamilia charm bracelet last year so I’ve got her a charm for that and also a chamilia ring.
