Can I bail from the Christmas party this late?

Christmas party is on Thursday and is an all day event, an hour away.

I have nothing to wear. I’m broke. I’m 15 weeks pregnant and haven’t told work and not really that close to colleagues.

I feel shit and have done last week and DD is also unwell and keeping us up all night.

I’d rather just work but I didn’t go last year as I was heavily pregnant.

I don’t know what to do...

Ring in sick.

don't say a word about not wanting to go but just phone in on the morning with a case of The Withering Shits, or something , be very sad you are going to miss it, ask keenly about it when you see everyone

Show nothing but enthusiasm for it today and tomorrow
On Wednesday afternoon start feeling a bit unwell and don’t eat anything but “hopefully you will be ok by morning “ as you are “really looking forward” to the event
Thursday morning call in sick ( been throwing up all night)
