Gin Recommendations...

As above looking for a good bottle upto £50.

It’s for BIL and he’s already a gin drinker so he knows his stuff, me sadly never touch it so I’m not sure what to buy. Think he likes the style of Hoxton’s gin etc

Any help would be great!

It depends. Does he like botanical stuff with hints of fruit etc or not?

@Iggly I’m not too sure and sadly he has nobody I can ask 😕 I have seen bottles of hoxton though in his house that’s the only reason I know that one.

Limehouse is lovely as is the Kew one. There's also one which is a number but I can't remember what it's called which is very smooth. My favourite is Fresha which is heavenly - lightly strawberry flavoured but it might offend a purist .

DP got me some Monkey47 gin before which was delicious.

Tarquins is nice, also Silent Pool, Hendricks Midsummer Solstice, Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin, British Polo. My favourite at the moment is Beerblefish Hopped Gin though.

Harris gin, only available direct from the distillery so a bit special.

Another one saying Harris gin. really nice, dry gin. it's only available from the distillery but they do have lots of click and collect places all over the country too. and the bottle looks amazing
having said all that my favourite gin is Lussa, which comes from the island of Jura, and it's really floral and delicate
I've not had Pickerings but they have black friday deals on at the moment

There's a gin made in Macclesfield which is very good, and another one that is always well received is Wheadons. Its made in Guernsey but you can buy it online.

If you don't live close buy, find a local (to you) gin, then it's got a bit of meaning behind it?

Or otherwise, Silent Pool is lovely and the bottle is very pretty!

Avva gin is LOVELY. And my favourite. I agree that Harris has a nicer bottle though.

Salcombe gin is lovely

Harris or Isle of Arran gin - can only get from the distilleries though so shows effort on your part. Give him an orange to go with the Arran one though as that is just lovely with it!
My personal favourite is Hendricks though!

Jawbox - lovely with ginger ale.

Shortcross

Wild island gin is the only bottle I don't grudge £45+ for. Delicious and beautiful bottle.

Harris is a close second.

Hoxton gin tastes like posh Malibu! It’s really fruity and quite sweet. So based on that I would probably avoid some of the heavy botanical ones

I would recommend Malfy gin. It’s gin with a fruity twist but good quality like the Hoxton. There are several different ones now. Good price too.
