Christmas Eve traditions

I absolutely love Christmas Eve! I think it’s the most magical exciting day of the year. There’s always a few little traditions I do for my DC each year to make it more special and memorable for them, such as new pjs, baking treats for Santa, reading a Christmas story before bed etc.

I would be interested to hear what traditions other families have, see if there’s anything I could incorporate into our Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is my favourite day too usually, but I’m working this year.

However, things we usually do are find and open the Christmas Eve box (the elf leaves it in our house as a ‘thank you for having me’ gift), have a nice breakfast - usually pancakes, make a gingerbread house, wrap up and go for a welly walk followed by hot chocolate with marshmallows, make reindeer food, bring all the presents down to put under the tree, have a Swiss cheese fondue for dinner, maybe go round to a friend’s house for a Christmas tipple, come home and put new pjs on and watch Christmas film (all in the Christmas Eve box), put out a mince pie for Santa, put kids to bed and crack open the Baileys!
