Are your Christmas decorations already up?

If so, when did you put them up?

Not yet, we will put ours up on 1st December. Otherwise the time between the decorations going up and 25th Dec would be too long and my little girls would be just beside themselves waiting for Christmas to hurry up Grin

Pipandmum · 25/11/2019 22:45

No. First weekend in December (so this year we will be getting the tree Dec 1).

Lovemusic33 · 26/11/2019 08:50

I love Christmas but tree doesn’t go up until December, probably 2nd week this year as we are pretty busy up until then.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 26/11/2019 12:57

Does anyone like to do it so it’s all ready for the 1st December?

Tree goes up first Sunday in Advent (that's this Sunday)
Tree comes down Twelfth Night

Drabarni · 26/11/2019 13:02

No, it's November and I like to enjoy them and not be pissed off with them, and on here asking if it's ok to take them down on boxing day Grin
Doing ours on the 14th, not a day before.

hopelesssuitcase · 26/11/2019 13:03

This weekend. I used to put them up later than that but found I enjoyed them far more before Christmas than after!

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 26/11/2019 13:06

Ours will be going up on Sunday. I don't see any reason why people should wait though if they don't want to, if it makes you happy then go for it.

managedmis · 26/11/2019 13:10

Not yet. That's this weekend's task

Drabarni · 26/11/2019 13:50

Exactly, couldn't agree more.
Also, please don't be too judgemental at people putting them up early.
Some people do this because they lost a loved one at Christmas and want to get it over with before then.
There were 2 children who lost their fathers (Army) both at my dc school.
They have constantly done xmas in November ever since.

ElsasSalamander · 26/11/2019 19:47

I’d love to put ours up now but due to a DD’s birthday will be waiting til next weekend so she can have her cards & balloons up for a week!

Christieee · 01/12/2019 17:51

I purchased some Christmas decorations today and did get a bit eager so put ours up today 🙊

xJune88 · 01/12/2019 17:53

Yesterday!! First christmas with our little one I was miserable before!

BlueEyedFloozy · 01/12/2019 18:27

I ALWAYS put mine up the first Saturday in December then take them down on the 27th.

I came home from work today to a full house of decorations!! DH and the kids wanted them up... We've been together 18 years and he has never do much as gotten the tree out of the loft without prompting let alone actually decorating.

I don't know how I feel about this!!

dontalltalkatonce · 01/12/2019 18:28

No, but only because we're having the kitchen ceiling replastered and new lighting installed on Tuesday so the contents of the kitchen have to in the living room.

Blueberryblueberry · 01/12/2019 18:31

I reeeaaally wanted to put them up but the dh and DC all got grumpy and tired so decided it would be a disaster. I've put some fairy lights up in the hallway though Grin I'm not usually one for putting them up early but I feel like we really need Christmas this year!

JudgeRindersMinder · 01/12/2019 18:34

I’m going away on holiday so it won’t b done till after that, we usually do it about 10ish days before Christmas

lilgreen · 01/12/2019 18:37

14/12 here.

ListenLinda · 01/12/2019 19:07

Not yet but I would if I could! Need to get some more baubles. Going to doing next Friday when DC are at my parents for the night. Then they will come home and see them, can’t wait to see DD face!
