Succulent for Xmas?

Idea for sil who I’m struggling with. When is the best time to buy it and will I have to water it?

Lidl have some at the moment, I water mine once a week, they don’t need much water.

Ikea usually have a nice selection. They last for ages so it won't need to be bought last minute. They'll only need a dash of water once a week.
