Cheeseboard

I'm trying to shop more locally this Christmas so I'm ordering a cheeseboard from a local cheese shop, to collect Christmas Eve for the size I want I have to pick 5 cheeses, so far I've got;

  1. A local blue cheese
  2. Cranberry in Wensleydale (dds favourite)
  3. French Brie
  4. Wookey Hole Cheddar

Can't decide on a 5th, there's a huge list of English, french and Continental cheeses.

Do I need a continental cheese maybe, Gouda or Jarlesberg? Maybe leave off the cheddar and pick something else??

I'd probably keep the cheddar, it's nice to have a good bit of cheddar.

What about another hard cheese like ossau iraty or Emmenthal?

I like a soft blue and a hard blue.

Cornish yarg?

The cheddar will definitely get used up in sandwiches or a sauce over Christmas if it doesn't get eaten as part of the cheese board.

Ossau iraty is my favourite hard cheese, it's delicious.
