Hi All

We have the usual suspects - dobble, uno , labyrinth, bugs in my kitchen, cludo, monopoly.

Looking for some board game recommendations to add to our list?

Many Thanks in advance!

Pooh, watching with interest!

Our 7-nearly-8 yo loves Rummikub and Monopoly (with different rules!).

elQuintoConyo · 20/11/2019 22:08

Ooh not pooh Grin

hiphiphoorayback · 20/11/2019 22:11

Carcassonne is a must.

PJMasksGhekko · 20/11/2019 22:19

Uno extreme, youngest 4 at the time found it quite funny she had over 20 cards

CrumpetyTea · 20/11/2019 23:42

Settlers of Catan is great as is Carcassone/Ticket to ride - the various monopolies/Pandemic
More child friendly- Sleeping Queens/Rata tat cat
Others- frustration , Farmer game (can't remember if that's its actual name?) castle panic, forbidden desert, Pit

we were playing a game called the London Game last night- this was a game from DP's childhood

@Turniptracker We love Dixit too, it's beautiful. It encourages creative thought, has very interesting illustrations and can be quite easily enjoyed by any age or any ages mixed in a group. The only thing is that you really want 4 players or more.

marjoretta · 21/11/2019 07:38

Sorry!

It's not available in shops in the uk, but you can buy it on amazon. Basically, it's a bitch version of Ludo.... so simple to play, but you get to kill each other. In our house this creates, people building alliances and getting even etc....

Ellapaella · 21/11/2019 11:21

Forbidden Island is great fun. We play that with our 8 year old and teenagers, the 4 year old joins in with a bit of help. It's great because you play as a team against the game so no tantrums when someone loses!

RedKites · 21/11/2019 11:25

Colt Express is fun, and a bit different.

PutYourBackIntoit · 21/11/2019 11:33

Thanks for this thread! I have 10, 8 & 4 year old. We manage monopoly, Uno and exploding kittens. Labyrinth is too tricky for youngest at the moment. Looking forward to the season of board games 😁

happycamper11 · 21/11/2019 13:01

There is a new jumanji game that looks good and one called 5 second rule where you have to think of as many items relating to a category in 5 seconds - these are on my list

Enko · 21/11/2019 14:48

Another one saying Dixit

Shiner · 21/11/2019 18:11

Exloding kittens and Werewolf

vixo · 21/11/2019 18:36

Qwirkle is a great game. Mine are 6,8 and 11, and the 6 year old can beat us all playing qwirkle if she gets the right tiles and puts her mind to it. Also nice and easy to take away - it always comes on holiday with us!

Luckyleprechaun80 · 21/11/2019 21:20

Kingdomino is a great one.

Curious2468 · 21/11/2019 21:27

This is the thread I needed! Thanks
@hiphiphoorayback which Ticket To Ride?Do you have to buy an original Europe one(expensive) or can I buy London one?

hiphiphoorayback · 04/12/2019 17:04

We have the North American, which I think is the original but the Europe is meant to be really good too.
