At what age did your elf stop visiting?

My youngest is 7 and this year he is getting sceptical. He asked me the other day if it was me moving the elf and I didn’t know what to say. all his friends also have elf’s and I know he would be disappointed when his didn’t arrive. I am not sure how and when elf should stop coming. Curious to get ideas from others.

I'm ready for the elf to retire but DD is 7yrs and loves it. My eldest is 12 now so I'm hoping she'll help.

Yellowsun, I like that idea, elf retires and stays for snuggles. Did that go down well with your 9 year old? I think I will plan that next year maybe

"Santa/elf/etc only come while you believe. We were afraid you had stopped believing so you wouldn't get any presents so we have ...".

thinking about it, no belief no presents sounds good too, especially for olde DC with younger siblings.
