Bath bombs

My daughters love lush bath bombs but they are so expensive (the kids are only 8 and 6).

Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative that's still colourful and fun?

Only people who clean the bath should bellowed to use bath bombs!

BillywilliamV · 19/11/2019 21:58

Be allowed..

I got DD some for her sticking from Asda at the weekend, they had some Christmas themed ones (we got a Santa & reindeer) and some rainbows, unicorns etc.

TellerTuesday4EVA · 19/11/2019 22:01

Stocking even!!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 19/11/2019 22:06

I quite like The Body Shop ones which I think are about £1.50

WhenYouCantRunYouCrawl · 19/11/2019 22:12

Make them!

1 cup of bicarbonate soda
1/2 cup of citric acid
1/2 cup of cornflour
1/2 cup of Epsom salts
Tablespoon of melted coconut oil
Teaspoon of essential oil such as Lavender or Orange.

Mix together. Use a spray bottle to spritz mixture gently with small amount of water and pack into a mould (you can use yogurt pots if necessary).

Fun for the kids to do and no bits of flower to clean out of the bath!

i buy primark ones for my son who wants a bath bomb in every bath he has. they’re a pound each, all different shapes and colours.

prezziebox · 19/11/2019 22:22

Bomb cosmetics have amazing bath bombs that I've used a few times.. They're a bit cheaper than lush ones and are just as good, if not better..

Try Just My Look online - they're around £2.50, they're cute and I had great feedback about them last year and have ordered more to give as gifts this year

wlv12 · 19/11/2019 22:30

Boots had some nice ones, snowman, candy cane, snowflake etc - £4 each, 3 for 2

RickOShay · 19/11/2019 22:32

Thanks for that recipe @WhenYouCantRunYouCrawl
Might try making some with the dc.

Ladypuggerz · 19/11/2019 22:42

Try Geekyclean: geekyclean.com/ and Becky's Bath Bombs: www.beckysbathbombs.co.uk/

I am a big Lush fan but rate the above highly too!

Arewenearly · 19/11/2019 23:01

Home Bargains and Asda have loads in at the moment, will be stocking up for my littlest for Christmas.

oobedobe · 19/11/2019 23:03

Yes the body shop ones are reasonable price and decent ingredients too, they don't leave a mess either. You can get 3 for $5 or similar. They don't have a big 'bomb' look though but my DDs like them.

They smell lovely and colour the water.

Craftycorvid · 19/11/2019 23:05

You can make (and buy cheaper) than Lush. Much as I love a bit of Lush, the glittery crap in their BBs is very annoying and makes a mess of the bath (and DH’s beard one time Grin).

ahagwearsapointybonnet · 19/11/2019 23:33

I quite like Bimble too www.bimble.co/ and Bomb Cosmetics (as above) do some lovely ones, I find some smell better/more than others, but I had a lovely soap and vampire bath bomb from there recently!

Cherryrainbow · 19/11/2019 23:46

I second the ones in primark and boots! The poundshop have a pack of 3 dinosaur shaped bombs for a pound, my son likes those ones x

user1493494961 · 20/11/2019 10:14

Home Bargains 49p each or a pack of 3 Mr. Men/Little Miss £1.99.

Pinkblueberry · 20/11/2019 10:15

How about buying them a kit to make their own, they might enjoy that.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 20/11/2019 10:16

I love CocoBubble - they're all kiddy designs (when they melt there's a toy inside, or a snowman on) but also gentle ingredients for their skin.

Moomin8 · 20/11/2019 13:17

I've tried so many and don't think any match up to Lush. The smell is so much better for one thing. Which is annoying because they never have special offers!

Lovemusic33 · 20/11/2019 16:27

Asda seem to be selling loads of them this year and I think they are BOGOF, they look similar to bomb cosmetics bath bombs.

My dc’s love lush too but they have sensitive skin dh’s always makes them itch Sad.

dontalltalkatonce · 20/11/2019 16:38

I got a box of 12 of them for 13 quid for DD off Amazon, brand is STNTUS and just as good as Lush.

ByeGermsByeWorries · 20/11/2019 17:34

I get them from Wilkinson's and the Range. Both smell lovely and reasonably priced too

Moomin8 · 21/11/2019 08:38

Thank you @dontalltalkatonce those ones look really good. I'll have to try them.
