M&S Christmas Dinner

Anyone ever had one? Any good? Worth the money? Is it really hassle free?

Neither me or DP are the best of cooks and neither can be bothered to slave away in the kitchen all day, we would both rather spend the morning playing with the kids/lounging around in our pjs, so we’re thinking this may be our best option.

Absolutely fab, do it.

Like the sound of this, as it's just DH and me for Christmas dinner: do you buy/ order as a full meal, or do you mean choosing the individual items ready made.

Mercedes519 · 19/11/2019 16:23

It’s great. You can buy all the bits separately. It all cooks at the same temp so you just need to work out timings back from when you want to eat.

Mumtobe193 · 19/11/2019 16:26

@florriepeck choosing all the individual items ready made

Yes do it, it's fab.

florriepeck · 19/11/2019 16:28

Oh, will definitely look into this.
Would save having leftovers, too, which we probably wouldn't eat.

Elle7rose · 19/11/2019 17:11

Yes; we've had it for two years now and this will be our third. We tend to get a Turkey crown to make things easier.

Be1atrix · 19/11/2019 20:58

Yep we do. We've done it for just the two of us (when DC were at their dads) and also when we've had 10 guests!

troutknickers · 19/11/2019 21:11

Can I ask what sort of things you buy? Is it just all the starters/meats/puddings? Would I still have to buy veg etc and prepare that all myself?

Mercedes519 · 19/11/2019 21:50

I‘ve just ordered. We do our own veg as a lot on the veg selection we wouldn’t eat. But we get a turkey crown, pigs in blankets, gravy and puddings. OMG the puddings Grin

Cherryrainbow · 19/11/2019 23:55

The starters are always a hit with my other half who is pescatarian x

I decided for a break from all the cooking one year and did a M&S Christmas lunch - it was expensive (and there were less leftovers)

My family (and me!) were disappointed with the taste and quality.

If you are a good cook, be prepared for the fact that it won't taste the same. It'll be fine and convenient.

Now I prepare a lot in advance and each family member has a task / dish to prepare.
