I have a string of 2000 lights on my Christmas tree, just caught it up the hoover and snapped the wire!!!

Ah this happened to us one year (in December though ), it was a pain in the arse.

I feel your pain. We had a beautiful set of 1000 tiny amber LED lights and one year 'D'P yank them to try and free them from behind a unit and snapped the wire. Completely unfixable. I could never find any the same size of colour :( I hope you can easily replace

Yes it’s up, but I’ve had a tough year and it makes me happy, not hurting anybody else!! There are all manner of reasons of people doing things the way they do.

I have another set, but not the point as you can imagine what it was like getting the damn things on there 😩

Can't you strip the coating off the wires, reattach them and repair the coating with electrical tape? It's really not hard at all.
