Aldi turkeys

Hello! I'm considering getting an Aldi turkey this year, one of the free range fresh ones.

I know they come in in the 19th, but does anyone have any experience of when you need to get there to definitely get on? I can't make it for 9am on the 19th!

Also, good or bad experiences generally with their turkeys would be gratefully received!

I got one last year. Opened it ( to brine) on Christmas Eve and it was rancid. I know it was an issue elsewhere last year in a number of shops but never again Aldi for me.

@MsPavlichenko Urgh! That's awful.

😳 did anyone have success with Aldi? I was planning on buying one this year.

We’ve had several and they’ve always been brilliant

Eminybob · 17/11/2019 09:29

I’ve always got ours from Aldi with no problems.

@Heymummee That's good to hear!

We have had an Aldi one and it was so badly off that it put us all off Turkey that year.
Have also had issues with Sainsburys turkeys (and ham and pork).
I now go to the local butchers and it costs a fortune.

I’ve had Aldi’s the last few years without any problems.

had Aldi turkeys the last two years and they've been fine - don't recall having to go specially early to shop to get them

DH cooks them on the barbecue, leaving more room in the oven for roast potatoes Grin

Seems like very mixed reviews!
