Local Shoebox Appeal Ideas

My kids are involved in two shoebox appeals - one for boxes to go to the local residential home for elderly, and one for children in hospital over Christmas.

Any suggestions for the contents of these boxes?

I think we can do age 1-3, 4-7, 8-11, 12-14 and 15-16 for the kid's box. Not sure which age to go for!

Go for the age that matches your children. DD and I do a buy a gift for a child in care scheme and always get a girl her age as she likes choosing something she'd like herself and we also get a teenager as they're much harder to buy for so nobody chooses them. I find home bargains/ the works etc offer great things for the younger child- consider what would comfort them in hospital like slipper socks, maybe a few hot chocolate sachets etc

Oh - lovely idea! They can really identify with the child then. Thanks!

Hot choc sachets is also good - lots of nice flavours out there. Do you think the elderly recipient might like them too?
