Present for cleaner

We have a fairly new cleaner, just a few weeks in. I don't feel I know her well enough to choose a present.

Can anyone offer ideas or would cash be the best option?

I used to give one week's wages extra and a large box of chocolates/biscuits. Sometimes a little beany baby type toy for her daughter. She worked for us quite a while so I got to hear about her circumstances.

I usually do a bottle of prosecco and £20 in a card.

I'm sure your cleaner would prefer the money, a little extra for Christmas. There's no point in buying alcohol she may not drink or a gift she has no use for, money however I am sure will come in handy for her.

Yes, cash is probably best. I was thinking 2 weeks wages as we are away on one of her regular days, so paying her for a day off and an extra week.

We do an extra weeks wage and a bottle of wine!

This year will probably double that because she's amazing.
