Completely stuck for friend

I’m currently trying to buy for a good friend (male) for Christmas. So far I’ve bought him a wallet ninja and a grid it organised as he travels for work a lot, but I’m now completely stuck so I’m hoping for some wise wisdom here. I have checked out the thread for male gifts and have some ideas from there but he’s hard to buy for.

He’s early 40’s, as said he travels a lot..not just for work but likes to go off and explore on his own (not that it matters but he’s single). He’s a geoscientist, though that’s not what he’s working as right now. He’s quite into music and loves Dan Brown books. He can be quite reserved. For his birthday I bought him an ornate ammonite bookmark which he really liked and some tickets to a music gig. He’s having to start the FODMAP diet after Christmas as he needs to find out some intolerances.

He’s had a rough year and is really stressed at work, so I’d like to cheer him up a bit. Any suggestions would gratefully be accepted!

Does he have a hobbie as such? Company called Steelman sell hand made metal sculptures varying from professions to hobbies etc, typical cost around £40.

I have bought a sculpture of a man with a metal detector for a family member who is a keen metal dectectorist, he is very difficult to buy for, with limited interests so finding this little sculpture was perfect.
