Can anyone help with pre lit garland questions please?

This year Iv decided I want a pre lit lovely garland for my stairs. It has to be one with batteries due to lack of nearby plug sockets. Iv seen what look like lovely ones on studio but have never ordered off there? Are they ok?

Also I don’t know which bit/how long? I had have the actual bannister which is 69 inches, then I have a wooden post from the ceiling down to the floor at the end of the bannister, not a ‘knob’ like everyone else seems to have. So I’m thinking also wrapping Garland around the post part too as the room is quite bare of decorations. So should I wrap around the whole of this post from ceiling down to the ground (I think so?) if so how will that stay up as the post is obviously vertical? I rent so have to be careful what I use?

Last question, how much length do I need to be able to wrap it around nicely? Obviously more than he actual length of the bannister of course....

Try B&Q online for garlands, I bought a nice one there last year

I wouldn't worry about it being too long.

I would start by attaching the middle of the garland to the middle bannister rail, then take a loop each side and attach to the other banisters.

You should have a long piece left over at each side, so attach via command hooks to the rail where it reaches the wall and the post, giving three swags.

If the garland is long enough you will then have two nice tails hanging down, you can add ribbon bows etc.

I wouldn't bother with the upright post, by making the swags between the bannisters plus tails at the end it will be amply decorative.

ThAt should have said "..... four swags" not three.
I fear I am getting over invested with your garland.

Do you have a Range near you? They had a whole wall of garlands last year. Quite the choice too.

tricky I appreciate the investment!

Yes range isn’t too far away although not much on their website? I would prefer to see them in person to be fair so may have to try to make a trip!

Wondering, Poundland have those garland ties in packets of ten for , guess what, £1.

I got a lovely garland from B&Q! I bought garden green cable ties too from there.

It's not pre lit but I've bought battery operated lights and will put through it.

Thanks guys! Poundland is quite a way from me, but will try to get to one. So if you put your own lights through them, what am I looking for? ‘Warm’ battery lights?
