Boxing Day activities in London

Is anything actually open on Boxing Day? Looking for something to do with DC (11 & 8) that’s fun but not too expensive. We’ve done Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park in previous years but I’m getting bored of it and it’s overpriced anyway. Anyone have a good Boxing Day tradition somewhere in or around London?

What's wrong with staying at home playing with things they received yesterday??

Because we’ll be home Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will definitely need a change of scenery by day 3!

We usually go for a walk across Blackheath to Greenwich and a drink in the Trafalgar Tavern (we live in se london so convenient for us).
I'm trying to convince the rest of the family that we should do a Treasure Hunt this year: thesecret.city/in/london/trails/ .
Another one I looked at is here: www.treasuretrails.co.uk/things-to-do/london . Much cheaper although maybe less exciting than having it on your phone.

That’s a good idea, thanks!

Have you thought of a show? Tickets to The Snowman are quite reasonably priced.

@andpeggy1 the idea of staying in all day with toddler DS doesn't appeal at all!

@VashtaNerada London Zoo is open, so I'm considering that as we have membership already. In Pre DC years we went for a walk on Hampstead Heath and had a drink in the cafe there.

I wouldn't recommend Brent Cross, DSIL insisted we went one Boxing Day and I'm still traumatised 8 years later.

Walking anywhere along the South Bank when it is dark (4pm) with all the twinkly lights and festive huts is lovely. I've already done it twice this year and will be doing it again before New Year.
