Non fruit Christmas cake

I'd like to make a Christmas cake but my family don't like fruit cakes. Is there anything else that I can make instead that could be made in advance, last for a while and be special?

About 20 minutes. It’s on my list of “cakes to take” and everybody likes it.

Gluten free cakes can dry out quite quickly but the treacle level in this does help. I have never asked it to last more than 48 hours.
