I’m trying to change things up a bit this year and hopefully save money in the process. I usually spend £20 on my cousin and her boyfriend and then £20 each on their 5 children which costs a fortune. I’m now thinking of spending up to £80 on a family hamper type thing. I was thinking of putting some physical things in plus a gift voucher for the cinema or something. The children range from 9 to 2. Please help me with any ideas or if you think it’s a rubbish idea.

You could do a movie night hamper, with cinema voucher, popcorn, pick & mix, pop and a bottke of wine for the adults..... That sort of thing

I genuinely think you could spend less than £80. How about;
50 cinema voucher
Popcorn x 3 £3
Tub celebrations £4

I think a cinema voucher is a very generous and appropriate gift. No need for popcorn or other bits. How much does it cost to take 7 people to a film?

I think the cinema tickets with a tub of celebrations is fine.

Or, how about annual membership to English Heritage. Its currently on offer with 20% off,so £85 ish.
I know it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's great value and will cover the whole family.

Thanks, great suggestions. I am hoping to do it for cheaper if I can. I’ll price up how much it costs for the 7 of them to go to the cinema then go from there. The English heritage membership idea is great too, I’ll look what there is nearby.

Or don't bother with the cinema (and other bits) idea and instead buy an empty hamper (£5 in Poundstretchers) and fill it yourself with Christmas food/sweet treats, you could easily do a decent hamper for the family for £30/£35 and maybe just put in 5 bags of chocolate coins for the children and/or a small selection box each.
