Can anybody recommend one, we have one that is part of a sandwich maker machine but I don’t think it gets hot enough, the waffles take ages to cook. Bonus points for delicious light crispy waffle recipe to go with. Thank you Smile

Ooh thanks for this thread. My 8yo never plays with toys and so a waffle maker was on my list of things she will like that are also useful present list!

I bought a cuisinart and it’s brilliant. Also makes toasties and panini. I use it a lot (so does DS).

The use the waffle recipe that came with it (but add vanilla).

Tefal Snack Collection is a brilliant waffle maker, also has sandwich plates and you can buy others e.g. panini, bagels. I don't think its performance is compromised at all by being multi-purpose. It also comes with a booklet including a couple of excellent waffle recipes.

We previously had a single-use waffle maker from a German company called Petra which lasted 20 years but it wasn't as good and you couldn't remove the plates for cleaning.

We have a multi use waffle/panini/sandwich toaster but it's useless.

Hope you get some recommendations for a great waffle maker. Love waffles

Had my cuisinart for 14ish years, still going strong

I loooooove my cuisinart! I had a tefal one but it worked for about a month then everything just welded onto the plates no matter how much oil I used. I’m sure I did something wrong but I gave up! Twice the price but it’s lasted way longer.

I love my VonShef one.

I have a VonShef one too and v pleased with it. I bought it on amazon for not very much (about £20) as wasn’t sure how much we would use it, but in fact it’s been used loads.

My recipe, which has never let me down, is 135gSR flour, 1 tbsp caster sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt (if I remember!), 140ml milk, 1 egg and a splash of vanilla essence.
