Every year I start collecting bits and pieces for my kids nice and early to spread the cost over the three months running up to Christmas. This is great but I've got my DD so many things that I know she's going to love I don't honestly know how I'm going to keep my mouth shut and not spoil the surprise for another two and a half months until Christmas Day. I'd happily give her the lot now and then start again - anybody got any tips for keeping Christmas secrets successfully?

I have no idea but I also want to know!

I've been holding onto some things since the beginning of the summer. I can't wait for Christmas!!

luckily I've got dd1's 11th birthday in November so I can give her some of her surprises then! (one is a figure she desperately wants but usually costs loads of money but I managed to get cheap. she's going to be so excited as I told her she probably wouldnt get it!)

Ridiculous isn't it! I actually couldn't care less what I get - just love Christmas because I get to watch the surprise and delight on my kids faces as they open their stuff. It's my favourite thing in the whole world.

I know exactly what you mean I keep watching DS playing “police and bad guys” with his normal cars and the happyland people (the grandma in particular seems to be a popular criminal mastermind) and thinking that he is going to freak out when he unwraps the playmobile police station, helicopter and police van that are hiding in the jack and jill upstairs!
