Tablet/Laptop

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a tablet/laptop for a 10 year old with dyslexia, mainly to help with his school work as some of the apps he uses dont work very well on his kindle but also so he can play on it as well.
Any help appreciated as I'm not really sure where to start and dont want to waste my money getting the wrong thing.

iPad. So many decent apps to help with issues.

Thanks, would he be able to do homework on a iPad, I was thinking more of a 2-in-1 type thing might be better
