Ds 9 and ds7 want a fitbit for christmas. Wondering is there any for cheaper version or is it best to pay the money for better one. Request is he can set reminders and step tracker

The kids fitbit version is cheaper than the original adult ones. I think they're £70. If that's too expensive (which I think it is for a child) then there and loads of alternatives.

MiFits are better in my opinion. They're cheaper and just as good. Lots of my family has them and they are utterly lovely!

For a step tracker there's loads of cheaper options.

In terms of notifications, that will mean having Bluetooth linked to it all day and most schools wouldn't be cool with that. Also, getting notifications without the means to reply is just awkward in my experience. I've got a fitness watch and tracker and never switch the notification options on unless I'm out doing my sports.

My kids have the xaoimi mi bands, I can’t recommend them highly enough they’re fab! Only need to be charged every 10-14 days and do pretty much everything a Fitbit does plus they’re waterproof so the kids can wear them swimming. Big hit in our house!

I have the Samsung fit e which is exactly the same as my old Fitbit alta hr but has an rrp of £35. Plus it links easily with my Samsung phone.

The fit bit ace 2 kids went down to £45 on amazon in their July sale so I'd hold off until Black Friday

DD (9) had a Garmin Vívofit jr for her birthday and its great- a lot cheaper than a Fitbit too.

DD2 works in a sporting goods store, She recommends the Garmin as they get less returns on them, more fit bits are returned with issues is her observation.
