Books for toddler living abroad

My niece is nearly one, and is living in a European country with my DB and his wife who is native to that country.
I was thinking of sending some very British board books over for Christmas such as Each Peach Pear Plum. Does anyone have any ideas of other suitable baby/ toddler books? My mind has gone blank, and my children are all well past that stage now. Extra points for Christmas themed books!
Thanks x

Raymond Briggs Father Christmas is a bit old but The Snowman is lovely.

Christmas on Exeter Street, Paddington Bear

Shufflebumnessie · 05/10/2019 22:22

Both DS & DD love Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. They both love lifting the flaps to find the animals.
As already suggested That's not my books area huge hit with that age. There's a whole range of Christmas themed ones - Reindeer / Snowman / Santa / Elf / Polar Bear / Angel etc.

Not necessarily very British but Bear snores on, Bear wakes up for Christmas & Gorilla Loves Vanilla are great.

Or, if you want to make this an annual tradition, just buy the book of the year in the appropriate category.

Dear Zoo

Goodnight Moon

The thats not my series was adored by my daughter when she was one and I they have a few christmas ones. Stick man by Julia Donaldson is lovely but she may be too young for it.

GVmama · 06/10/2019 19:10

Brilliant, some great suggestions there! @Toadsrevisited Peepo is a fantastic one, I’d forgotten all about it.
Thanks all Smile

The acorn wood ones are lovely. I've had a book people catalogue through and you can get all four for £9.99 which is cheaper than I paid in WH Smith/Amazon.

Most of our other favourites have been mentioned.
