I'm introducing adult stockings to my boyfriend's family - they don't do them but it's my family's tradition and my favourite thing. BF and his lovely teen daughter are on board and will do mine Grin

I will do all the shopping for them - I'm starting it so it's my job and I love doing it anyway. Just need a few ideas, if anyone has any...

I'm buying for:

  • V clever, nearly blind old lady in her 80s
  • 51 yo man who loves cars, space and everything James May would like
  • 50something woman I don't know very well who is quite rich/high-flying
  • 40something vegan hippy woman
  • 17 yo delight, BF's daughter (who gets a stocking anyway, but I'll add to hers if any good ideas come up)

Vego is definitely the favourite type of vegan chocolate for all my vegan friends. I would definitely recommend the vego chocolate spread.

There are some tiny gifts in matchboxes 'inamatchbox' that might be good on a few levels (a very mini spice one for example, although potentially you could recreate that). I kind of want several/one if not several.
Muslin cloth for face care.

For the elderly lady scent, lovely Handcream, mini bottle of fizz
For the 50 year old - little Christmas type packaged bottle of bath oil from REN or Aromatherapy Associates , mini NEOM candle, Emma Bridgewater Christmas mug - wait for offer on Bargains thread, subscription to magazine - some very good offers out there - Red, GH, Conde Neste Travel mag etc
Man - top gear subscription offer, fave chocolates
Hippy lady - books ? - browse Book People for inspiration - bit left field but last year 'y DH bought me the poem for everyday of the year hardback (they do a nighttime version to) and I have really enjoyed it yet I wouldn't have bought it for myself

Yes to mini Neom candle. They seem expensive for such a small one but are really lovely. I get them in M&S when 20% off.

Some phenomenal ideas here. Would any of you like to do ME a stocking? If this is how people do stockings in Mumsnet-land, I need to seriously up my game! I love this thread and it's making me really happy thinking about it all.

I bought beautiful folding shopping bags made out of sari material from oxfam today, which are so pretty and light. Went looking for BF's hippy sister but ended up getting for everyone as I can't see how anyone could resist them.

A UNICEF charity gift.
Just done it for my Dsis who has everything! Paid £14 in her name to vaccinate 100 kids against polio and they’ll send me a card to give to her giving details of the donation.

@ElizabethinherGermanGarden I love the sound of those bags.

I have three theme I'm working on for other people.

  1. Fresh green forest inspired winter delights with a book to read and botanical woodland essences bath salts .

  2. Bee themed with highlights that are the best cotswold honey lip balm, artisan chocolate and a handmade recycled leather notebook.

  3. A skincare/wellbeing stocking with Christmas chai tea, jade roller and beautiful skincare mini's.

What would be you favourite ?
