Christmas food delivery slots

After seeing on another thread that M&S and Waitrose both already have delivery & click and collect slots open, does anyone know when other supermarkets will be opening their slots?

I googled Tesco, who say the slots will go live 3 weeks prior to the day, but usually if you have delivery saver, you get early access, does anyone know anything more on that?

I'm due to have DD on the 19th so trying to be as prepared as possible when it comes to food!

I think delivery slots for Tesco go live late November for their delivery saver people. I remember staying up last year at midnight already have my m and s order booked

I think Tesco and Sainsbury's slots both open a week earlier if you have a delivery pass with them.

As a bit of a tip, I usually book a shop somewhere near the time, then at midnight when the slots open, I just amend its delivery date. Then the actual order will get amended bloody loads! in the run up to the delivery date. Saves having to think too hard in the middle of the night!

Ocado. Are releasing some slots tomorrow

NoWordForFluffy · 06/10/2019 08:40

You have to pay about a tenner for Ocado though! Bit steep for me.

Thank you so much guys! I've now got my turkey from Waitrose click and collect on Christmas Eve. I normally go earlier, but I've booked a surprise trip to New York for the family for DH's 50th and we don't land until Christmas eve morning!!
I'd have been screwed if I had t seen this post!!

MsSquiz · 06/10/2019 09:17

@NoWordForFluffy that's a good tip! Can't believe I've never thought of it before!

Annoyingly, Ocado don't deliver to our area (I check regularly)

I've booked a waitrose slot for 22nd in case I miss the Tesco slots. And I've got my FIL on standby to come round, should we be indisposed at the hospital!

@willowsmumsy, we're away in Scotland until late on 23 Dec as it's DH's 40th. So I've booked a Waitrose delivery for Christmas Eve itself! Though I might just fetch everything from Booths that morning as I think we'll collect the bookable stuff for that date.

@MsSquiz I e just googled for Tesco and if you have delivery saver it's 27th nov. I usually throw in 6 bottles of spirits, check out , go to bed and amend at leisure.....several thousand times 🤦‍♀️

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 03/11/2019 14:52

I was thinking about doing an order this year - but have decided to bite the bullet and prepare it the old fashioned way!

Wish me luck!

MsSquiz · 03/11/2019 14:58

@motherofdoodles thank you! I'll put a reminder in my calendar. Just want to have all my bases covered for this year! Festive season & a new baby definitely means I don't want to have to go to a shop if I can help it! Smile

I always add a few delivery days before and after Christmas and just ‘mark’ them with a few bottles of wine - I’m not leaving the house if I don’t have to! 😂

@willowsmumsy wow your life sounds amazing, just from this small snippet!
