I know some of you boycott them, I don't so please don't get shitty, please.

Anyone get their email telling them when they can book their christmas slot? I got 6th october and that feels really late. Wondering if I am on a rubbish list.

3rd October here too

likeridingabike · 30/09/2019 16:53

I got the 6th, I'm sure I've read somewhere that it's regional.

I do usually stay up till midnight the night before to book, but the slots don't always open straight away, so sometimes I've booked as soon as I get up on the day of the slot. I've always got the slot I wanted but sometimes I've had to book a later slot initially (prefer around 10am on Christmas Eve) and then I've changed it when more slots are released later. They always release more slots, including Christmas Eve morning slots nearer to Christmas, this is just the priority slots.

CakeNinja · 30/09/2019 22:33

3rd October.
Shop weekly with them and have done for years now. Spend a lot (well, when I see on here what some people can do a weekly shop for)!
Will fill it with the veg and some stuff I know we will need for Christmas dinner - and of course booze!!

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 01/10/2019 19:37

Waitrose ones are out and I've booked free delivery for 23rd December. My groceries won't come with an unwanted added extra of misogyny either.

hardheadedwoman · 02/10/2019 19:52

I thought they were always released at midnight?

1stMrsF · 02/10/2019 22:43

I've got tomorrow, but I have been shopping with them and had a delivery pass since 2009. Every year I think about cancelling and getting a cheaper monthly smart pass but every time I get sucked in by my free Christmas delivery and an early booking slot

CakeNinja · 03/10/2019 17:51

@1stMrsF mine isn’t free - I have to pay £10 for the privilege of booking a slot! Having said that, it’s totally worth it rather than the faff my dm has every year with a different supermarket delivery service who always have substitutions - who wants to be going food shopping on Christmas Eve eve ffs?!

FurForksSake · 07/10/2019 15:01

Booked ok, just! Quite a few had gone.

Weren't the 20th/21st slots free last year?

MyPatronusIsABadger · 07/10/2019 19:15

I normally get everything from M&S but I’m just not impressed with them this year and I like the idea of staying in...are waitrose good with substitutions?
I’ve got Christmas Eve morning (I’m thinking of mooching around/watching a film then taking my delivery.....) is that too late?

likeridingabike · 09/10/2019 20:24

I always book a 10am slot, so I've got plenty of time to pop to a supermarket if I really need to, I've never had a substitution from Ocado on Christmas Eve though and rarely at any time, but I still wouldn't risk an afternoon slot.

I'm sure you can book one free delivery on 20th or 21st with a delivery pass.

Shelley54 · 12/10/2019 14:14

We've had the delivery pass since 2011 and almost a weekly shop since then, certainly the past few years. We got our slot on the 7th

I always book the evening of the 23rd so if there is a disaster I can go out early the next morning. No real disasters to date, just the odd substitution. Fingers crossed for this year!

FurForksSake · 12/10/2019 14:42

bike - nope this year the 20th/21st slots were £5.99 and I was sure I'd had them free before.

I am not sure I will use my slots this year, but I have them booked and they are actual shops in there.

BeyondMyWits · 12/10/2019 14:49

We got a slot on the 10th. No advance email though, the email was sent on the 10th - don't know if that means we are "the general public" - I rarely shop at Ocado (maybe evrey 3 or 4 months) and only take a slot in case the weather/health/whatever causes problems near Christmas.

BeyondMyWits · 12/10/2019 14:49

an email on the 10th, slot is 22nd.

bikinibottommuffintop · 13/10/2019 20:37

Booked my slot- 23rd. Slightly confused that there’s no Christmas food showing as in stock for my delivery date though, I’m sure I’ve ordered the whole lot in October before?

Aragog · 13/10/2019 20:40

I've booked the 23rd in the evening. I always do. Means if there was a problem there is time. Mind you, we don't actually eat a Christmas dinner at home on Christmas Day.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 13/10/2019 20:40

I booed mine on 3rd October. Booked delivery for Monday 23rd December, filled the basket with gin which I must remember to remove otherwise could be an interesting Christmas🤪

CopperTrolley · 14/10/2019 19:23

I’m living dangerously and have gone for the afternoon of the 24th.

Only actually need food for 2 days, and we’re out for Christmas lunch so it’s not a disaster if some of the stuff doesn’t turn up.
