Has anyone got one of these? With circular track that goes round the tree. Are they annoying? Any recommendations?

We have one, look lovely but very annoying. My 3 year old likes to play with it but the track is very flimsy

Thanks, I'm thinking it might just get in the way although they do look nice.

We have the Lego winter train set up with an electric engine. Looks lovely and very festive!

Bluewavescrashing · 25/09/2019 18:49

How do you set up an electric motor?

We have one. I quite like it but it comes off the track all the time.

Bluewavescrashing · 25/09/2019 20:27

@Stompythedinosaur where did you get yours and how much was it?

We love lego in our house and do have a lego train track, but the train got dropped and was never rebuilt. It used a staggering amount of battery power too. I'm wondering about getting an electric motor and rebuilding it, but it's the lego city train so not very festive. Maybe we could design our own?

I have the Lego winter train - haven’t actually built and used it yet! My plan is to set up with a motor too. One day I’ll get around to it - maybe this year will be the year!

We got given one from The Range. It's as annoying as you'd imagine but you can turn the music off on it. Dd loves it and it does look really nice.

Stompythedinosaur · 25/09/2019 20:43

We had a hobby one to start, but it was beyond useless. Couldn't get the power to connect to the train, possibly because we have carpet.

Now we have this set. It isn't perfect, but is much better than the hobby one, as it has a battery in the train so everything doesn't have to be so perfectly together for it to work.

*We had the hornby one to start with

We had a cheap (cheaply made but over priced) train that was horrible- loud, annoying, far too fast, derailed a lot and ate batteries.

Swopped it for a fake lego train. Dh and ds added in the motor from the lego city train and ds spends Christmas building various structures and odd things that he thinks up. It’s fun but the fusion of Christmas, ninjago, Chima and wonky robots isn’t quite the look I was going for.

@Bluewavescrashing we have one around our tree, it looks lovely and the music can be turned off, we got ours in Woodies.

@Barbarara that sounds like ours too although it's a Christmas train last year my DS added in a Lego airport and Lego station etc. Under the tree was getting a bit crowded 🤣 not the look I was going for either but the kids were happy.
