I'll find myself in South London later this year. Christmas Grotto question - Should I take the children to Polhill or Ruxley?

One 5 yr old, one 2 yr old

Thank you for any advice

I’ve only been to ruxley, but just googled polhill and unless I’m missing something, ruxley is much more of an ‘experience’
There’s several parts to ruxley, meeting mother Xmas, making reindeer food, toy workshop and then meeting Santa. It’s also really nice to wander round the garden centre itself.

Ruxley every time. Coolings is another garden centre one near by which includes a walk through woods to get to Santa's cabin.

Ruxley definitely - it's lovely

timetochangeagainforever · 24/09/2019 19:03

I've been to both .. and Hamleys and Harrods but Rickey is the best

timetochangeagainforever · 24/09/2019 19:04

Thanks Ruxley - autocorrect

Ensure, if your child had a unisex name, you tell them the sex of your child as my friends son has a unisex name and received an inappropriate gift and was upset when his male cousins received a different gift. I went 4 yrs on the trot but sadly mine are far too old now

It asks if the child is a boy or girl. Maybe they introduced that on the booking after making mistakes in the past.

Thank you all, I really appreciate your help

Neither! Try millbrook garden centre in gravesend, it's much better than Ruxley and different every year

Thank you x

Ha ha, from the title of this thread I thought I was on one of the more ‘interesting’ Baby name threads Grin

Mallowmarshmallow · 25/09/2019 22:45

We've been to Ruxley a couple of times and it is a full experience. Lots of fun although tickets are super competitive to buy so make sure you're online at the second of release.

We are going for Polhill this year though for the first time. I've heard great things about their Santa(s) and my son is not really keen on entertaining the fun and games with the elves so I think something lower key will suit him better.

So, depends on your children really...

Thank you all so much.

Haha not sure they'd be the best baby names.😂
