What’s popular for large cuddly toys this year? I’m looking for something to appeal to as many kids as possible for a raffle prize!

our local school fete had one of these up for grabs in the raffle and dd was desperate for it (she had to settle for a lollypop instead Grin)

Unicorns and llamas

motortroll · 17/09/2019 20:21

Sloths?

ChipInTheSugar · 17/09/2019 20:25

Apparently Asda have MAHOOSIVE giraffes.

elrider · 17/09/2019 20:32

I was going to mention the Asda giraffe but since I can't add anything constructive, I'll say that I would absolutely hate you if my child won that Grin

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 17/09/2019 20:42

My mum’s neighbour won a very large cuddly toy. Mum accepted it as a gift for my dc. I’m sure mumsnet will agree with me that going NC was the only possible response.

A teddy bear is favourite, a unicorn or similar would have the same appeal.

We got ours from Costco a few years back and deeply regret it Grin

SquintEastwood · 17/09/2019 21:03

This guy is cheap, cute and appeals to all ages.

He's 50cm so not overly massive either, if be more inclined to buy the kids a ticket for something I could fit in the front door :o

My daughter is 10 and would spend every penny on a pink unicorn cuddly toy. She loves massive toys - although as the parent I wouldn't want it too big!

TinkerPony · 17/09/2019 21:22

Oversize huge Disney stitch Teddy so fluffy

As a parent I would be very, very unimpressed. Not only if one of my dc won, but for all the extremely disappointed dc as well.
Why not pick a popular soft toy of a reasonable size and have several as prizes?

CottonSock · 18/09/2019 07:00

I would not want to win one either. My kids would hate me

ReallyChristmas · 18/09/2019 07:20

Would you really be so annoyed if they won a large teddy? We’ve got so many small teddies. I wanted to do the tiger that came to tea for Judith Kerr but the tiger toys could be a bit scary!

You’re right though, other parent friends think giant toy is an idea akin to a cup of cold cat sick idea!

I love these cuddly toys! The stich one is adorable!

And I definitely won’t send my mum to Asda for that giraffe for dd! Sounds great

I wouldn’t enter

Ragwort · 18/09/2019 07:27

Look in a charity shop, we get inundated with brand new cuddly toys, many large ones, no one wants them Grin.

user1573354 · 18/09/2019 10:39

Wilko always do a great selection of large soft toys at Christmas for around £10. Big bit not obscene so I don't think parents would object. I got this one last year.

We just have a small house and so it would take up very valuable space and gather dust.

ReallyChristmas · 18/09/2019 17:20

I’m going to have to give into the general lack of keenness! Mine love big cuddly toys!

Marks and spencer have massive dinosaurs and unicorns. And a peter rabbit!
