Thinking of getting fake tree this year as thinking it'll be cheaper in long run and also less faff every year.

Can anyone tell me about your fake tree? Where can I buy a reasonably full one for a good price? Is prelit a good option? Has yours lasted well? Any comments helpful as I don't know where to start!

We have a pre-lit BH frosted tree - always had real previously but having a toddler and trying to be greener we decided to go fake last year. Chose frosted as thought I'd go full-on fake while I was at it! I love it. As someone else said up thread, the frosted ones do shed a bit while putting them up, but not too much of a faff. BH is expensive but the quality is v v good (the tree we went for is routinely used in GH Christmas edition pics!) and can get a good deal in the sales. Also bought a couple of their pre-lit garlands.

We switched to an artificial tree a couple of years ago when we got a cat. I thought the cat might climb a real one and break the decorations. I was also fed up of spending most of January picking pine needles out of the lounge rug.
It looks fine. With decorations and lights it looks nice and Christmassy.
The cat still climbs it....

This is mine. I hate fake trees but adore this 😂

We have a prelit BH Fraser fir (7’) and it is absolutely fantastic . My dh was very sceptical before we purchased it but even he is converted , it looks way better than any I’ve seen for comparable prices in garden centres or shops . We got it in a sale a couple of years ago and it was about £250 .

Another vote for balsam hill - got a 6ft prelit tree last summer in one of their many sales and I LOVE it.

Watching with interest. I've had my eye on an 8ft Balsam Hill for the hallway and a 6ft one for the dining room but I want to see alternatives

We got BH last year. Didn't go for the pre-lit as had bought new lights the previous year, and I'd rather replace lights than the whole tree if I needed/wanted to. I really like it, we have another pretty decent artificial tree but the BH one is far superior.

Kaemingk Everlands are great quality, but cheaper than BH if you shop around. They are stocked in lots of the good garden centres round here, as I like to see them ideally first, but cheaper to order online. This is mine and I love it, even with the extra hoovering it causes. My parents bought a similar green fir one after seeing mine, which is equally good quality, and a lot more real looking that what's in B&Q and the like.

There are some half price artificial trees on Brand Alley at the moment that look nice.
