My daughter will be nearly 3 at Christmas and I think playmobil will be the perfect toy for her as she loves imaginative play and small world.
I had a playmobil dolls house at her age (which I played with until I was about 12!) And my parents are planning to refurbish it for her for christmas which is lovely.

I would like to get her some other playmobil to go with it but there are so many different ones I cant choose! So I'm looking for recommendations - which sets were played with the most or had the most pieces for the money. She loves animals, babies, trains and camping.

With the Noah's ark I think that is the usual price - its £38 in Smyths and £37 on Amazon. Does seem very cheap compared to similar sized play sets in other themes though!

My son got a fire rescue set, the pirate ship and the camper van for his 4th birthday. The camper van is fab and has had lots of play. The pirate ship has also been a big hit, especially when We’ve has the paddling pool out!

Honestly I think 3 is a little young for Playmobil, I'd consider Duplo for an earlier small world type play, they have sets like cafe/house/fun fair/pizzeria/airport/nursery school? Or maybe Happyland?

If you are set on Playmobil then it really depends on her interests. One of mine only wanted animal things, zoo/safari/farm/horses the other it was preschool/camping/swimming pool.

Depends on the child surely. Ds started playing with his cousin's as a 2 year old. He got his first set that Christmas before he turned 3 and it's had a huge amount of play. Dd is 15 months and already plays with it (supervised).

I don’t think 3 is too young for Playmobil (though some of the littler bits might get lost). Dd got some for her third birthday and it was a massive hit. She had started to lose interest in Happyland, and wanted poseable figures and more detailed stuff by then.
