Tiggles those advert calendars are absolutely beautiful! Currently debating whether to get one because the postage is £6.50 and I don't know if I can justify it 😫

PinkDaydreams · 17/09/2019 13:21

£2.50 for a chocolate orange??!! Asda have them for £1

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 17/09/2019 13:22

@ClaraLane I thik it was Cornerstone, they are a MN favourite but I ordered them and thought they were actually very poor quality, I could notice the difference in DH's five o'clock shadow, he went back to his old ones very quickly.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 17/09/2019 13:34

@Tiggles those advent calendars are lovely. We have a cardboard one for about 10 years and it's really seen better days. May have to get one of these both

Barbarara · 17/09/2019 13:46

@EvilHerbivore 😂 definitely no room here for any more giant toys with Robert still taking up half of dd’s bed and last year’s enormous penguin guarding the doorway to ds’ room

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 17/09/2019 14:16

A couple of instore bargains to report:
M&S had their 12 days of sockmas advents reduced to £12 in store, contains 4 pairs of trainer type socks and 8 pairs of normal ones each with a Christmas theme. Actually quite lovely and works out a pound a pair which I thought was pretty good.
Secondly, Claire's have some of their TY Beanie Boos reduced to £4, but they are also included in the 3 for £5 offer. I managed to get 4 that my daughter doesn't have yet, for her stocking and 2 for the present drawer for just £10, which as the rrp is £8 each I am pretty pleased with Grin

BrylcreamBeret · 17/09/2019 14:22

I saw the 6ft giraffe mentioned here and I went directly to ASDA where they had kindly inflated one and put her in the foyer. It's an inflatable soft toy!!! She's beautiful. I absolutely did NOT buy one. (yes I bloody did and she's glorious). Her name is Melvin. I suspect DH may forbid me from reading this thread ever again so adieu Grin

Limitedsimba123 · 17/09/2019 14:30

Has anyone used the KiddyMoon soft ball pits and if so can you recommend them? SIL has suggested this for DN first Christmas. It seems like a lot for a ball pit but I don’t mind if they are good quality. If anyone sees them on offer I would be grateful if you could let me know. TIA.

EvilHerbivore · 17/09/2019 14:56

@BrylcreamBeret yay! I'm sure Melvin the lady giraffe will have a very lovely Christmas at your house!

Elpheba · 17/09/2019 14:58

I’ve got Matalan codes I won’t use so first one to pm me can have them. Have to be used by end of tomorrow

balalalala · 17/09/2019 14:59

Has anyone seen any bargain toot toot?

georgialondon · 17/09/2019 15:08

@balalalala all the toot toot stuff was half price in the big Sainsbury's toy sale last year. I think it starts in a couple of weeks so I'd say wait for that. We are big toot toot purchasers here!

balalalala · 17/09/2019 15:15

@georgialondon great tip, thanks. Will hold off! As a experienced purchaser, any top tips on what to get?

georgialondon · 17/09/2019 15:27

@balalalala what do you have so far?

balalalala · 17/09/2019 15:31

@georgialondon nothing really, just one car. Dd wasn't keen but ds has taken an interest!

Jammiebammie · 17/09/2019 15:32

@Youvegotafriendinme I’m so sorry that was me for the chocolate oranges, I got my dates wrong! It’s tomorrow (18th) they’ll be 75p each. Sorry again im a twat

@BrylcreamBeret Melvin sounds awesome!!

Thegirlhasnoname · 17/09/2019 15:34

Not present related but I was sorting through my cellar this morning and found that my snow globes popped all over my Christmas decorations and only a measly Father Christmas was salvageable. If anybody sees anywhere selling them for a bargain (given I’ll need to replace them all!) then please let me know

thesoo · 17/09/2019 15:46

I have a 25% off a £20 spend code for the body shop. The code also gives you a free 50ml vitamin e moisture cream worth £13. Code is 19809.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 17/09/2019 16:14

Home Bargains had the Yard of Oreos in store today at either £2.79 or £2.89 I can't remember.

I bought a couple in case they're like the illusive Reece's advent calendars from a couple of years ago that sold out immediately they were put out on the shelves

Chocolateteabag · 17/09/2019 16:21

@balalalala - might be worth looking on your local Facebook selling pages for toot toot?
I am about to post up a huge box full of DS2's stuff - it cost £150-200 at least and it'll go for (hopefully) £30-40?
Not an ad for me btw but to give you an idea of prices

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 17/09/2019 16:24

I went into our local Tiger today and they very definitely didn't have a sale/£1 table Sad

What they did have near the tills though were sealed cardboard bags (that you couldn't see in) containing themed lucky dip items eg. Garden, home, food

I can't remember the price or how many items were in them though.

Maybe this is how they shift their leftover stock in some branches?

BrylcreamBeret · 17/09/2019 16:52

@balalalala ASDA have some offers on toot toot. There's a drivers garage for £30 down from £59.97, adrivers launch and spin for £24.97 which comes with one car, a train set for £49.97, a magic lights castle for £44.97, and a big vehicle carrier for £24.97. You should as a pp said look on Facebook local selling for better bargains though.

balalalala · 17/09/2019 16:54

Great, thanks, will do

georgialondon · 17/09/2019 16:58

Oh then I'd definitely get the toot toot garage if you can. It's really good. Definitely worth the money. I got mine on offer on amazon. We have about a dozen cars. We started off with the vehicles we often see when out and about as we sing the songs they play when we see them in real life GrinSo taxi, police, ambulance, fire engine, refuse truck, bus etc were the first ones we got.

I personally think the fire engine is the best.

I love the taxi too as it has a very friendly camp voice. Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 17/09/2019 17:44

Argghhhh. Bloody Toot Toot and Justin's voice! The kids loved it as toddlers though! 😂
