What are we all having? Not just for The Big Meal but generally over Christmas?
We usually go down the Quorn roast with all the trimmings route for Christmas lunch but this year we're having veggie haggis with roast parsnips, potatoes, pine nut sprouts etc with whiskey sauce and blue cheese gravy. On Christmas Day I don't want to be stuck in the kitchen so it's finding the balance between ready made stuff (the haggis) and stuff I do myself (the veg, gravy, sauce etc).
We usually have a 'dirty food' day on Christmas Eve Eve as a reward for doing the food shop earlier in the day. New Year's Day is like a Christmas Day mark two but the food is a bit more 'from scratch' - last year I made a chestnut, mushroom and camembert pie which went down very well, so might do it again this year.
These are all veggie not vegan obviously but we do eat vegan stuff often, so any ideas gratefully received!
