Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Any ideas on potential deals for the Switch? I assume with the new version coming out they may be a bit cheaper at some point. DSD9 will be a big fan I know, and she's very tricky to buy for this year!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 10:54

Very quite often have a good new customer discount a bit closer to Christmas. I'd keep Googling that though.

Black Friday might be the best bet now though.

Shantotto · 05/09/2019 11:02

@unihorn The new switch is a different model that is a handheld only - you can’t connect to the TV like the existing switch. So the new switch will be cheaper! Maybe an option if your DSD is happy just to have a handheld?

I got mine with two games on Black Friday. Coming up for two years ago but just have been a good deal or my DP wouldn’t have bought it for me!

whatwillicallmyself · 05/09/2019 11:12

@tentative3 they had everything coats, jackets, jumpers, scarves, slippers, gift items, you name it, I got a coat for €50 that was €150 I think, the only thing I would say is I thought they made all their own stuff here in Ireland but there were loads of jumpers made somewhere else that were I think €10 and €20 my mom got a few of these and they were lovely and warm but got bobbly really quickly which is not what you would expect from clothes from Avoca, but the coat I got was lovely and I got little bits and pieces gift type things that I was pleased with. I don't know if I would travel from UK to go to it though, I suppose it depends on what your looking for. Maybe @Barbarara can remember more about the prices of things.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 05/09/2019 11:15

@GirlWithTheYellowHat thanks for the Smiggle heads up, got some stuff for nieces and stocking fillers for DS. Spent £40 but saved £30. Whilst I was browsing a pop up came up to get 20% off when you gave your email address. Got some lovely initial notebooks for nieces worth £13.50 but reduced to £7 and then down to £5.60 with extra 20% off

WaitWhatOh · 05/09/2019 11:16

Nip and fab have a flash 24 hour sale - 75% off their makeup ( which is lovely stuff) the code is FLASH75 -just ordered £34 worth of makeup for just over £8! Including postage ShockGrin

Unihorn · 05/09/2019 11:23

Good shout on Very Fluffy
02Shantotto yes I only just realised this! Hm will have to have a little think. I think DH would rather the original so he can play too.

My Landsend order came this morning, it was great quality! I ordered Medium for the 9yo as it's 140-152cm and she's 140 now so some of it is a bit massive but will last the winter at least. May place another order for a coat for me now!

Coffeeonthesofa · 05/09/2019 11:25

@BumpkinSpiceBatty

Thanks for the magnetic blocks, perfect for a gift for a 3 year old I know. No idea what they have toy wise but these are perfect as a stand alone or extras for what they already have.

PinkDaydreams · 05/09/2019 11:47

I’m after a leather passport holder/cover if anyone can recommend where to buy from please? Looked on amazon but on reading reviews a lot of the ‘leather’ ones are actually plastic.

PinkDaydreams · 05/09/2019 11:49

Just to note that the nip fab code is on make up only. Gutted as I wanted some skincare but the code doesn’t work

Jammiebammie · 05/09/2019 11:59

Check your emails people, I’ve had one from Matalan offering a code for £5 off a £25 spend.

Aw @Reastie I’d mentioned that friends Lego set in previous thread, would love it for an extra for dd1 (17) but only if it comes down in price which is doubtful.

There’s a few deals on older Lol dolls in supermarkets just now. Morrison’s have the Lils for £1.75, Asda have the fuzzy pets and the confetti pets for £5. Claire’s also have the first eye spy series reduced to £10 and have buy 3 get 3 free on them. This was from a Facebook bargain group.

Gustavo1 · 05/09/2019 12:05

@BumpkinSpiceBatty, a great deal but I can’t get the code working.

Any ideas anyone who has managed?

Coffeeonthesofa · 05/09/2019 12:14

@Gustavo1.

You have to add to basket, then proceed to check out. On the page with the buy now button there is a box Gift cards and promotional codes, put the code in and it updates the price. Then proceed as usual.

getupgonow · 05/09/2019 12:37

@Coffeeonthesofa - I've tried the code but it tells me it's invalid Sad

Unihorn · 05/09/2019 12:38

I've had a 15% off spends over £20 with my Matalan reward card and three codes for £5 off £25, £10 off £50 and £15 off £75 in the post today.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 12:39

Oh no. If I get those I may have to buy everything! Xmas Grin

Tooner · 05/09/2019 12:43

Seen today in store Wilkos in the reduced gardening bit.
Medium size really nice dark wicker picnic baskets with a four piece picnic set £5 reduced from £20.
Perfect for Christmas hampers or even just as a picnic hamper if thats your thing.

xSharonNeedlesx · 05/09/2019 12:50

No idea on quality or the company but I’ve found these Santa letters that can be personalised, £3 down from £10 currently. I added some stickers and a nice list certificate for my dd’s for an extra £1 each as well. Hopefully they will be good!

xSharonNeedlesx · 05/09/2019 12:56

Just went to order those magnetic blocks and the code doesn’t work. Stupid Amazon!

Barbarara · 05/09/2019 13:21

@tentative3 I don’t know where my Christmas list is gone to and my memory is like a sieve so I can’t remember specific prices. They advertise it as “up to 70% off” I got a few gifts their last year and would have bought more if I hadn’t already stashed gifts away for some people and been a bit broke. This year I’ve been holding off on buying gifts until after this sale and saved for it.

I’m about an hour a way by car and I think it will be worthwhile but I don’t think I’d fly in unless you had other reasons to come anyway.

Barbarara · 05/09/2019 13:30

Aveda have a game on their website that you can play to win either 20% off or a free full size product with a spend of £45

totallyLosingIt · 05/09/2019 13:30

The Amazon code to reduce the price of the magnetic blocks isn't working for me either. Damn!

Someaddedsugar · 05/09/2019 13:40

Thanks for the Lego Friends recommendations! I’ll have a proper look this evening!

Coffeeonthesofa · 05/09/2019 13:53

Sorry folks the code worked for me after @BumpkinSpiceBatty posted it. They must have pulled the code, maybe they’ll cancel my order?

DarkHumour · 05/09/2019 14:00

@WaitWhatOh Thanks for the heads up about Nip + Fab. I ordered £34 of make up for just over £8 too. Delighted!
