Have I made the right choice?

So my daughter is going to be 2 next month. For her birthday Ive chosen her a playmobil 123 set with the thought of adding to this for christmas etc.
Im wondering if I made the right choice, should I have gone with some simple sylvanian families? Knowing theres so much choice to add to this over time and knowing I can just take the smaller pieces away until shes older. She is my third child so does act older than she is, as she wants to play with and do what her older brothers are doing?

Any advice or opinions please?

Sounds good. I always think buying items or ranges you can build on over birthdays and Christmas is the best way to go. Far better than whatever the latest fad is and you're never stuck for gift ideas! As she gets a little older she can move into the regular playmobil stuff if she still likes it Smile.

I think you've made the right choice.

We were given a load of hand me down Sylvanian families when my daughter was 2 and it was all too fiddly and fragile for her. She also used to chew on the figures which wasn't great as they're sort of suede coated and that absolutely wrecked them!

I’d be a little bit hesitant as some of the pieces are so tiny and would be a choking hazard. But if you feel confident that safety is okay then playmobil is the better option. I’d say SF are better for 5+.

Why did you decide against duplo? A bit more toddler friendly and she would happily play with that for a good few years to come.

Playmobil 123 is great. Ds2 got the Noah's Ark for his 1st birthday and still plays with it age 6.

He's got loads of normal Playmobil but until relatively recently the little bits would just get lost.

Oh is PM123 a toddler range? If so that’s a great option! And as I said Sylvanian Families are really better saved for age 5+ where they can properly play with it.

Thanks everyone! I feel better in my decision now.
We have normal playmobil already from the older children which she does like but its fragile and falls alot etc and she cant play independently with it.
Im sure she will love her own little sets!

The Playmobil 123 stuff is lovely, really sturdy and a bit hit in our house with DDs age 2 and 4. The airport bus is a firm favourite here.

My 2yo DS loves his playmobil 123 and I encouraged my parents and my siblings to add to it for birthday/Christmas. I love SF but it's not suitable for a 2 year old.

Playmobil is brilliant and will be good for years. You can always add sylvanians another year.
