Christmas jumpers.

I know this is early, but I see threads about Christmas all year round on MN.
I’m bringing a group of 13yo (DD and three classmates) to England for a week-long study holiday at the end of November and I’ve decided to call our week “A Very English Christmas”.
So I’m planning all sorts of language learning activities:
A Pantomime, an illuminated night-time steam train ride with Santa, Christmas Market, Carolling, a mini taster of Christmas dinner, DVDs, some variation of Elf on the Shelf.....
We’ll all bring Christmas themed pyjamas and Santa hats but I’d like to have matching (bad taste) jumpers, to wear when travelling and for photo opportunities! We would probably also read about the Save the Children fund raising campaign..

Can anybody point me to a website that might have them in October?

I’ve looked on Amazon and they were either very expensive (£15 is as much as I can budget) or VERY inappropriate bad taste(!). Medium to Large adult sizes would be fine.

Ebay

Try George at Asda. I doubt they would have them just yet, but nearer November I imagine they would. In fact, all supermarkets do them nearer Christmas and they are fairly reasonably priced. (Tesco and Sainsbury’s)
That said, if you wait until you get here and pop into primark you’d get some very cheap ones!

If you have anyone over here who can purchase them for you, I suggest sending them to Primark, peacocks, Matalan, or one of the larger supermarkets in the middle of November. given the number of them last year, I think we can promise there will be enough in the shops at that point! That way a) it won't cost you a huge amount, b) it could be a surprise and souvenir when they get here c) you don't have to pack them before travelling.

And it isn't too earlry to start planning for Christmas, especially if it involves traveling somewhere!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/08/2019 07:34

They normally go into shops in late Sept / early Oct. Primark is your best bet for cheap, but they're not online. George / Asda is a good shout though.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/08/2019 07:36

Are there any in the right size in Next's clearance now?

EssentialHummus · 23/08/2019 07:42

Try AliExpress (Chinese eBay).

Sgtmajormummy · 23/08/2019 08:42

Thanks for those suggestions!
The Next jumpers are cute, especially the cotton ones, but not in the sizes we need. Pity.
I think I’ll go with hlr’s suggestion and buy them when we’re in England. There’s ASDA and Primark in our town so they can choose their own!

I've found v good ones for all ages in Asda - nice and cheap. Not sure they'll have them in before November but you do need to be quick once they are.

Like others suggest by that time primary will be teen Christmas heaven sounds great what you are doing

Pixie2015 · 29/08/2019 21:12

Primark not primary

ritzbiscuits · 30/08/2019 13:51

Another vote for Asda. They usually have a big range and some are funny/naff/out there! Perfect for a young teen to pick out her favourite

You can buy on eBay all year round
