Presents for 10 month old

After reading the recent thread on overdoing it... I’m scared of overdoing it!

DD will be 10 months old at Christmas. She is the first grandchild on both sides. DH has his parents and 3 siblings who will get her gifts and there’s my parents and my 2 siblings who will also get her gifts.

I’m also conscious about the amount of plastic tat around so was going to buy second hand which means I feel like I can get more...

But I don’t know what to get! And I don’t know what to buy her for her 1st birthday at the end of April...help!

My DS will be 9 months..

Apart from that I am just getting things he will need such as new coat, sleepsuits, few items of clothing.

I got some stacking cups, some of these squeaky eggs, an Upsy Daisy doll, fancy pyjamas and a couple of books. Plus a couple of little stocking bits. I knew that she'd get plenty from others and there wouldn't be many years when we'd get away with so little.

Three out of my four have birthdays near Xmas. We got toys that would do as they started to walk and move eg. Sit n ride car, push along block cart.

We had a wooden cube with sliding bead wires on the top and different activities on each side that we put heavy books in so they couldn’t pull over.

Board books and lift the flap type books.
Bath toys
Those toys with a suction cup base for on the high chair.
A shape sorter
Those post toys that you stack the rings on - we had an Ikea one.

For an April birthday you can get garden toys or a swing or small slide.

We always end up with family asking what they can get kids so I always need lots of ideas to share out.
