Alternative to a stocking?

For DS first Christmas I made him a personalised stocking (with his name etc on) from materials I bought from a craft shop. He's now 7. DD will be celebrating her 3rd Christmas this year and I still haven't created anything for her Blush. I've been using a small bag that I had as a stocking when I was little.
Last year I realised that DS stocking really isn't great size wise as anything larger than an orange doesn't really fit in it. On Christmas morning he ended up with more items out of the stocking than in it!!

This year I'd like to get something for each of them (just don't seem to have the time or inclination to make something myself) that can be used for years to come.
Any suggestions on what to buy, and where to buy from?

You could get big Santa sacks, I know Not On The Highstreet do personalised ones. Though you still have the problem that that certain gifts just aren't going to fit.

We just do small stockings for when they wake and then their main gifts are wrapped and placed by the tree.

We also do a combination of stockings and wrapped presents under the tree.

You could get them both a new stocking. For the last 2 or 3 years (at least) Matalan have sold stockings with an initial on. I think this is last year's version. They are less than £10 each, are a decent size and made from stretchy knitted fabric so can accommodate a fair bit of stuff.

They do sell out of the popular initials quite quickly though.

Thanks for the suggestions. There stockings only have lower value items in (small Lego set, book, pack of fun pants etc) but last year I really struggle to get much in to DS stocking as it has no stretch in it. Main presents are wrapped and put under the tree so i only need something small (ish). I'll have a look at the suggestions. Thanks.

A couple of nice christmas boxes? Or sacks (ebay) that you can add their name to.

I got some nice shoes box size boxes from hobbycraft last year, 4 quid each. Ive used them to store ribbon etc but they are really good as gift boxes

Xmas boxes are a nice touch cos u can have them personalised. My mum got some wooden ones for us last year. I currently still use mine as a makeup box ha

I got some lovely personalised hessian sacks that have lasted years, I’m pretty sure it was a groupon deal and they were pretty cheap
