How much do you spend on your children at chritmas?

I think I may have gone a little overboard Confused in the hundreds.

Probably around £300 each. Two dc

Couple of big presents and then a few smaller gifts plus stockings.

I bought the gifts over a couple of months so I didn't really miss it and I had cash coming in from a job so I budgeted to use that.

£50 each. That's enough.

2 DSs.

One present to share. About £40
Then about £20 each on their 'main' present. About £5-8 each on another smaller one. And £10ish each on stocking fillers.

I just have one DS and can spend quite a bit. I usually buy toys he'd love throughout the year on offer or secondhand. There is actually a huge secondhand toy sale near us every September so I usually manage to pick up quite a bit at that. And as DS's November birthday and Christmas approaches I decide what he's getting from the stash for each. I usually even ask my parents and brothers if they would like to gift him some of it and they do.

Then I'll add a few specifically chosen items. For the last 3 years he has chosen what he wants for Christmas in January and he sticks to it. So that makes buying his main present easy and cheap as spring is a great time for secondhand toys. There may be a toy I know he'd love but is hard to get, something with a US only release or something that was discontinued years ago. So I'll work out a way to get them delivered/hunt them down. Then I might choose a few particular bits and pieces, a key ring/minifig of a favourite character, a Lego toilet, a few sweet treats, etc. But mainly I'll have found stuff over the year that I'll have stashed.

It's definitely a couple of hundred but his main present this year would have cost as much if not more than everything if I'd bought it new.
