What can I prep this morning? Will veg be ok left in water from now until Xmas day? Can I make cheese sauce for cauli cheese?

I'm literally out all day from 12 noon so no time to prep later. Having a slight panic...

Prep all the veg. Cauli cheese will be ok if you put clingfilm over the pan and leave it in the fridge. What madness is this, cooking for 14? Make sure you allocate jobs for them all. We just go out for lunch. There's 15 of us. Just think of all that washing up! Shock

Will the veg be ok in pans of water - no room in the fridge!!!

I always chop the veg on Christmas Eve and leave in pans in cold water overnight. You could roast the potatoes (and parsnips if you're doing them) and reheat them to make them crispy tomorrow. Pigs in blankets? Cook, cool today and reheat thoroughly under foil. Covering everything in hot steaming gravy on Christmas Day can hide a multitude of mistakes!
Hope it goes well, Merry Christmas!

I wouldn’t bother tbh

Just limit the number of sides you do, and eat late. Invite people into kitchen to help peel etc, makes it sociable and more relaxed. Esp with a few Proseccos!
