Chestnut Stuffing

Planning on making chestnut stuffing this year using the Merchant Gormand recipe.

Two questions:

1. Has anyone tried this recipe and does it work or have a foolproof one that is better?

1. Can I make the mix in advance (on Xmas Eve) and leave it covered in the fridge ready to roast on Xmas Day?

I always make it on the day but use a nigel slater recipe which we like

Hopeful bump, anyone know if it's ok to prep staffing in advance??

This is my recipe - and I make it the night before :)

1/2 lb sausagemeat
1 x pack of chestnuts chopped
1 x onion chopped
6 slices of bread made into breadcrumbs
teeny tiny splosh of stock
1 x egg

mix well and stuff turkey neck.
