I'd love to sit round the Christmas dinner table with someone dead famous, just to have a glimpse of their 'normal' life Xmas Grin

These threads are pointless no one ever says who and anyone can just say oh yes but I can't say who and talk crap.

RhubarbAndCustards · 22/12/2018 22:27

Yes, very well known TV star. But very normal to us.

DogMamma · 22/12/2018 22:31

I am spending it with someone you'll all know. very very well known ..........MARTINI ASTI Grin

cigarettesandcoffee · 22/12/2018 22:32

Why are people always so cagey! Like uttering the name of a random famous person they know will make the world suddenly implode! 🙄

TurquoiseWeekend · 22/12/2018 22:32

I wouldn't say they were a household name but they're well known and accomplished enough to have won the most famous award in their field. Usually pretty quiet, if a touch eccentric. Every family probably has someone just like them.

Fredathetortoise · 22/12/2018 23:17

Not Christmas Day, but for all of December and the first week of January, I'm spending several hours every day with some fairly famous people. As are a lot of my colleagues in the same line of work.

PersonaNonGarter · 22/12/2018 23:23

Used to work a little bit with famous people (celebs, not well-known scientists or whatever). They were almost all awful to varying degrees of grim. Not their fault, just the net result of being centre of attention over a long period.

Very glad not to be spending Christmas with anyone like that - even if the stories were sometimes very good.

TheSpottedZebra · 22/12/2018 23:52

Fredathetortoise Oh, no you're not!

PsychoCrayon · 23/12/2018 05:57

Not Christmas but going to a NYE party hosted by someone famous.
He’s so funny but can sometimes take the Mick.

hippoglitterfuzz · 23/12/2018 06:39

@PsychoCrayon will there be much "ambience" Grin

PsychoCrayon · 23/12/2018 06:49

Haha no, there’ll be poor people there too Grin

More ‘white lightning and a disco’ than ‘champagne and an orchestra’

Colabottle10 · 23/12/2018 07:01

@yuletidiness Yes

Colabottle10 · 23/12/2018 07:01

@PastaOfMuppets a mix of both.

popsugartart · 23/12/2018 07:05

Haha @PsychoCrayon that sounds fun!

@Colabottle10 will you have breakfast in bed on the day (I've been reading far too many things in the news lately)

ihopeyouwitchesareready · 23/12/2018 07:06

said it on here before but yes my Dh's brother is currently in a soap maybe not as well know as it is a scottish soap he has done other tv work but again all scottish based so maybe not as well known to some.....

cheesenpickles · 23/12/2018 07:19

No, but Victoria Beckham once phoned my sibling in the middle of our Xmas dinner on year. Does that count?

XmasPostmanBos · 23/12/2018 07:25

Are any of these famous people going to be doing their hobby?

Otterses · 23/12/2018 07:27

DH was an extra in the last Mission Impossible film. I'll be spending Christmas with him Grin he seems to think he's a celebrity. He shouted THAT'S MMMEEEEE in the cinema.

Then got shushed 😂
